A China Tale- Chelsea Hughes

Today was our last night in Tianjin! They served us a beautiful farewell dinner, where the employee’s from TJFSU expressed their overwhelming gratitude for us visiting their university.  The past couple of days have been very hectic though.  Most classes were winding down and all the students were trying to do some last minute sight seeing as well. Yesterday, was also our performance of Shakespeare’s “A Winter’s Tale.”  We have been rehearsing daily for this amazing opportunity to perform in CHINA! The show started at 7:00pm and we already had students in the auditorium by 5:45pm.  They were so excited to see the show.  The final count for the show was about 300 people.  The show was a hit! After the performance, we had tons of people wanting to take pictures with and of us.  It was an honor to be apart of such an experience, because you could tell they were so grateful to be apart of it as well.

Well tomorrow we head for Beijing to walk The Great Wall, so be looking for the pictures!

Chelsea Hughes

I graduated from UNA in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications / Theatre and a minor in Geography. After my first Geography class, I fell in love with the world. I found myself wanting to soak up as many cultures as possible and the best way to do this was to TRAVEL! In 2011 I was able to study theatre in New York City. I lived there 3 months and met people from America, England, Paris, and New Zealand. Our friendships opened so many wonderful doors, one being my first trip out of the country. In 2012, I got the amazing opportunity to stay with a friend for two weeks in London. All of these experiences not only have made me a better actress, but a better human being. Follow me on my next adventure of learning and exploring this beautiful world, and remember: “Not all who wander are lost.”
