Today/tonight (depending on how you look at it) is the day/night! I cannot believe it has finally arrived…I am both nervous and excited.  Let’s go with apprehensive. Not knowing what to expect is providing me with the same sense of thrill I get from a roller coaster.

Packing for over two weeks in a different country was a real experience on it’s own…but two suitcases and one carry-on later I had accomplished it. Since I have only flown once before (for ~30 minutes), flying internationally will definitely be an experience. I expect that navigating the airports will be a feat of its own. My six hour layover in Korea is exciting. Especially because I get to go to more than one country on one trip. HUGE BONUS!

Meeting people is one of my favorite things so going across the globe will provide me with an amazing opportunity to do this. I never would have imagined that I would be traveling across the world to a Medical University and be the first representation of UNA Study Abroad in Taiwan. I am looking forward to my introduction to a new culture and learning new things.  Dreams really do come true!

Hello! My name is Abril Agnew. I was born and raised in the fabulous city of Florence, AL. I am a senior majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Health Promotion. Traveling is something that I have always wanted to do. I have never been outside of the United States and I have only flown once previously. My professional aspiration is to become a doctor. I will be traveling to Taiwan to study at China Medical University. I am extremely passionate about people and helping others. It is my hope that my study abroad adventure will provide me with opportunities for growth. I am extremely excited to try the food and tour the country. While in Taiwan, I will be learning about Asian medicine, health, acupuncture and much more. I hope you enjoy the blog posts and pictures of my journey in Taiwan!
