Clinic in Jocotán

Today we held clinic in the courtyard of the municipal building in Jocotán. This was our third full day of clinic. When we arrived we saw the line of people wrapped around the building.

We quickly set up for the day; although we were extremely busy, everything went very smoothly. We were able to care for over 250 people!

It was a very hot day. In fact, it was the hottest day so far. Students rotated through every area, helping in triage, presenting teaching projects in the waiting area, assessing patients with providers, working in the pharmacy and handing out supplies. We gave away more food, clothing, bibles, stickers, and lots of love.

After a long, fun day, we packed everything back up and loaded it onto the back of our vehicles. Unfortunately today was our last medical clinic that our team will be holding here.

Tomorrow we will be visiting several private practices, including OBGYN, pediatrics, general medical, etc. We are invited to eat dinner at a local doctor’s home. I’m excited for what the remainder of our time here holds!

In case you were wondering, someone threw up alphabet soup and created my last name, which is Polish. I like to seek out adventure, find the beauty in everything, and enjoy the little things in life. I'll graduate in December with a degree in Nursing; I cannot wait to live out my passion daily -- to serve, care for, and aid in the healing of others. I love people.
