History Scholarships

IMG_0012   Each year the Tennessee Valley Historical Society sponsors three scholarships for graduating high school seniors who will attend the University of North Alabama. The Tennessee Valley Historical Society established the scholarships by raising $25,000. The University of North Alabama provided a $25,000 matching grant. In 2016, TVHS contributed another $20,000 to the scholarship fund, which will result in an increase in award amounts in the future. The community can also contribute to the fund. All donations are tax deductible. Please follow the link below to give.

These scholarships are awarded based upon the students’ knowledge of American history, as measured by a written examination. The examination is administered by the history faculty of the University of North Alabama.
