Estamos aqui! We’re here! Finally! I feel like I have been awake for forever… probably because I have. It’s all worth it though! We flew from Huntsville to Charlotte to Newark to Lima. All the flights went smoothly and we did not get delayed so that was great! I had a great little flying buddy on the flight to Peru. Her name is Laura and she is probably about four years old and let me tell you, she has SUCH an imagination and she talked nonstop. Her mom kept telling her, in English and in Spanish, to quit bugging me but I assured her that she was not. She sang songs that she made up- one was about two worms and four cups of punch, we played restaurant and she would look out the window and say things like: “It’s raining candy!” She asked me if I was mean and she wanted to know why I called my grandmothers “Nana” and “Ma-ma” because she calls her grandmother “Cha-cha.” She definitely got me through that sevenish-hour flight.
We are now in Miraflores (a district in Lima.) We are staying in The Place- a nice little hostel that is decorated all cute and it is very homey. Breakfast starts at 7:00 and we have to be ready to leave by 8:50… which is not early but considering the amount of sleep we have gotten… yeah… so I’m going to call it a night! Hasta manana!
