All of us London-ers are finally together. A few of our group had a few minor problems: getting stuck in the airport for four days, only having one pair of clothes, no shower, etc., so after arriving, everyone was just thankful for a hot shower and food.
We’ve been on the go since we arrived. After successfully maneuvering the tube, a scavenger hunt, walking seven miles in four hours with Dr. Bibbee on Independence Day (slight exaggeration, but it felt like it), seeing Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Macbeth in The Globe (amazing), starting our research at The British Library, walking around Westminster Abbey and St. Pauls, and having some amazing food, we are feeling very at home here. Everyone is already in love with London and next week will be just as amazing.
Hello! I am a first year graduate student for the M.A. in English program. As an undergraduate student, I majored in English and minored in Film Studies, so I will base my upcoming thesis on both of those areas. Which brings me to London: I am going to London to work on a thesis proposal for the future, and am very excited to work with Dr. Peterson and Dr. Bibbee on my project. I’m also very excited to meet the London squad since I only know a few of the members of this year’s London Campus. I feel very blessed to be part of this group and to be going to London. What I’m looking forward to most: going to an art cinema. What I’m looking forward to the least: eating fish and chips (although I will, because it’s a “must” over there, and you will see pictures. With that being said, onward to the blog!
